Venu Eye Centre at Basai Road, Gurugram

Venu has been serving the people of Gurgaon district for nearly 30 years, providing quality eyecare to those in need without any discrimination of caste, creed or colour. Till March end 2023, we had treated nearly 8 lakh persons and had operated upon nearly 50,000 persons needing surgical intervention in Gurgaon district. Of the 50,000 operated upon, 25% had been operated upon free of cost.

Venu has tried to reach the unreached in the Gurgaon District, by providing services through surgical and OPD camps. In addition, a number of school screening programs were initiated to reach children with refractive errors and spectacles were provided free of cost/at extremely subsidised rates to those children who were found to need refractive correction.

The whole district of Gurgaon was also covered by an intensive Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) program which aimed at enhancing the lives of persons with disabilities (PWDs) within their community. Over 500 persons with ophthalmic disabilities were reached and were re-integrated into their local communities as independent contributing members. Children with disabilities were integrated into the available education system.

Venu is now expanding its reach by opening an ophthalmic Centre at Basai Road, Basai Village, Sector 9-B, Gurugram, Haryana – 122006. This Centre will serve as a secondary level eye care centre providing a crucial link between primary eye care activities in the community and the tertiary services provided by the Venu’s Base hospital at Delhi. It will provide accessible, affordable, accountable quality eye care to the community.

The Centre comes with a well-equipped OPD which includes an ophthalmic pharmacy stocked with all the medicines that the consulting patients may require, an optical dispensing unit providing spectacles as per requirement, vital ophthalmic equipment such as the YAG laser and visual field analyser. The Centre also includes an exclusive eye operation theatre fitted with operating microscopes, phaco and vitrectomy machines, thereby allowing it to offer all ophthalmic services to the patients, including surgical intervention, wherever required.
